Our Fundraising committee has been exploring many creative, fun and lucrative ways for your students to earn money for their spring expeditions, as well as for the school as a whole.
We are lining up one or two fundraising events for each month until school is out. We feel that these are excellent opportunities, provided the students really want to work and earn the money. We can organize and supervise, but it is really the students who should do the work, as they reap the reward, which becomes more meaningful for them. Some of these the students could pretty much do on their own, depending on age. But some will definitely require some dependable parental participation and/or supervision.
Next Tuesday, Nov. 11th, we will be having an after-school meeting (3:15 in the gym) for all interested parents and students. We will give a quick overview about what we have planned for the year, and details about what is taking place in November. Please plan on attending if you possibly can. We will keep it as short as possible and have sign-up sheets for students and parents. Afterwards we will try to summarize the meeting and put the notes on the Walden website’s blog under Parent Community Council. It is a good idea to check there often as we try to keep current PCC information posted. There is a place there that you can leave any good suggestions or connections you may have regarding these events, or offer ideas of your own. However, it is always best to attend the meetings to ask your questions and get your students signed up.
First deposits are already past due for expeditions, and other deposit due dates are coming up soon. Working together, we know we can give the students the opportunities for capital they need to experience their expedition dream! Please be willing to be a part of it.
Hope to see you there!
